Don't hesitate to share me your experiences about such travel Smile

Thank you very much Wink

Hi,
Its website should contain this information, but it is all in polish.
http://poznan.ap.gov.pl/kontakt-2/kontakt/
Try to send them a message and ask about the procedures.

Best luck in your search,
Gilberto

Hello,

My wife and I enjoyed a genealogy tour in Poland in 2105. The best part was our guide Kasia, who works with Łukasz Bielecki on the Poznan Project and is part of his Discovering Roots group. The group is particularly knowledgeable in the records near Poznan. I recommend you contact them at:

http://www.discovering-roots.pl/

They will know which archives you need and can arrange appointments at them if needed. The costs are more than worth it, especially if you do not speak Polish. They can be quite busy. I hope there is enough lead time for you to arrange something with them.

Best of luck!

Gary D.

How to optimise your time when visiting a Polish archives office, on your own.
I have successfully used this technique when visiting the Kalisz and Łódż Archives offices in 2017. Other people may have had different experiences.
1. Most importantly = Do your preparation and homework before you go.
2. Register yourself with the Archives office:
a. For the Poznan archive office you can get the necessary form from their forms web page: http://poznan.ap.gov.pl/instytucja/wzory-pism/
b. The one you want is under the heading
Formularz „Zgłoszenia Użytkownika” (wersja .pdf), kolejno dla Poznan http://poznan.ap.gov.pl/files/53_zgloszenie_uzytkownika.pdf
3. Once you have completed the form, I would email it to the Poznan Archive email address as specified in http://poznan.ap.gov.pl/kontakt-2/kontakt/
4. You then need to identify the details of the documents you want to look at.
a. All their documents are registered in https://szukajwarchiwach.pl/53/#tabZasoby
5. Once you have identified the details of the documents that you want to look at, you then need to request that the documents be made available at their Reading Room on a specified date. For that you fill out the form under the heading
Rewers (zamówienie materiałów) http://poznan.ap.gov.pl/files/rewersy.pdf
6. You can submit the document reservation request via their online submission page http://poznan.ap.gov.pl/erewers/
Instructions on how to submit - http://poznan.ap.gov.pl/files/instrukcja.pdf
7. I think that you can submit up to 10 document reservation requests per day.
8. Information on the address, opening hours, price list for services, and regulations on how to use the Reading Room can be found at http://poznan.ap.gov.pl/instytucja/zasady-udostepniania/

I cannot stress how important it is to do your preparation before you go to Poland.
• Register yourself.
• Know exactly which documents you want to look at.
• Request that they be in the Reading Room on a specific date.
