Hello my PO friends,

I was curious as to if their were any members who can read or rather translate Lithuanian records. Some of my Polish relatives after the border line was settled in the early 1920's ended up in Vievis parish (Jewie in Polish) and therefore the records from the 1920's are in Lithuanian and not Latin or Polish.

Anyone who might to be able to help translate these I'd be much appreciative.

Warm regards,

Hugh

Hello Hugh.
This is the original text in Lithuanian.

Tūkstantis devyni šimtai dvidešimt penktų metais liepos dvyliktą dieną Vievio R.-K. bažnyčioje jos klebonas kun. J. Mincevičius pakrikštijo visomis sacramento apeigomis kudikį vardu Janina gimusį liepo šeštą dieną š/m Pilipiškių kaime šios parapijos.
Kūdikių tėvai: Liudvikas Michalkevičius ir Liucenardos Arlauskaites gyveną teisėtoje moterystėje ūkininkai Vievio valsčiaus Trakų apskr.
Krikšto tėvai: Juozas Valentavičius ir Alena Michalkevičaite.

And this is its translation.

On the 12th of July in 1925 in Vievis Rom.-Cath. church, its parish priest J. Mincewicz baptized with all the sacrament rites the infant, who was born on 6th of July of the current year in the village Pilipiszki in this parish, and she was given the name Janina.
The infant’s parents: Ludwik Michalkiewicz and Lucenarda (?) nee Orłowska, legal spouses, farmers from Vievis volost, Trakai district.
Godparents: Józef Walentowicz and Alena Michalkiewicz.

kun. (kunigas) – priest
š/m (šiais metais) – current year
apskr. (apskritis) – district
The mother's name, if I read it correctly, sounds unusual, maybe it is a newly created form of the name Lucyna.
