Post subject: Looking for info on towns Serafin & Turosl
My great-grandparents were from Turosl (family name Bonczek) and Serafin (family name Szwarc). What is the best way to search for living relatives and/or church records (baptism/cemetery)? Thank you.

Below is a translated (Russian) birth certificate of g-grandfather Joseph Koszewski that appears to retrieved by him in 1915 as it was found in the basement of a relative in the U.S. I wish to follow-up on it and obtain more details about it and his father, Ignatz, and mother, Eva Rierdan. No knowledge of parents immigrating. Guidance would be much appreciated.

Stephen,
According to this birth certificate, your ancestor's birh record was issued by Kolno parish. It seems that Joseph's parents family research should be done in Kolno parish birth and marriage records books from before 1876. They are kept in State Archive in Białystok probably (http://www.bialystok.ap.gov.pl/) or Diocesan Archive in Łomża (http://www.diecezja.lomza.pl/kuria/kuria-diecezjalna).
