Gloria,

This is what I found in my sources.

Wiśniewski from Polish wiśnia- „cherry, cherry-tree”. Also root in many toponyms (names from places) like Wiśniowa, Wiśniew, Wiśnicz, etc.

In 2002 there were 52422 men and 56851 women bearing the surname Wiśniewski (Wiśniewska for women) living in Poland. Detailed maps of their deployment can be found here: https://nazwiska-polskie.pl/Wi%C5%9Bniewski

In 19th century there were following noble families:

Wiśniewski coat of arms Prus from Łuków region (Lublin)
Wiśniewski from Wiśniewy in Konin region
Wiśniewski coat of arms Ramult
Wiśniewski coat of arms Trzaska from Wiśniewo in Mazovia

Listen how your surname is pronounced in Polish (speakers turned on): http://say.expressivo.com/wZHlxXtT .

Click here: http://polishorigins.com/databases/index?s=wi%C5%9Bniewski to check what can be found about your surname in Polish Genealogy Databases.
