Hello,
my name is Norbert Sliwinski and I am interested in certain data about my grandfather and great Grandfather both born in Danzig ( now Gdansk)
1. Here are the information I have so far: My Grandfather was Josef Sliwinski born February 5, 1883 in Danzig - he moved to Essen Germany, and was married to Marie -Luise Mitzlaff (a divorcee ) with the maiden name Sabin on August 18, 1914.
I am looking for birth place and date for persons in 1. If possible, names and birth dates of their children.
2. His father was Josef Sliwinski ( Butcher) married to Bert Barbara with maiden name Klebowski both born and living in Danzig around the late 1800 hundreds.
The above is all the data I have. I am looking for birth place and date for persons in 2. If possible, address and names and birth dates of their children.
I am enclosing a copy of the marriage certificate for my Grandfather. There is a mention of other persons ( witnesses ) one being the daughter of - and I am guessing - Julius Karl Sabin?
The writing on the form is in Sütterlin which was used back than.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you Norbert Sliwinski

Norbert,
On the bottom line of the record it says in German: "Tochter des Tagelöhners Julius Carl Sabin wohnhaft in Danzig und seiner verstorbenen Ehefrau Helene Wilhelmine geborene Gutzeit zuletzt wohnhaft in Danzig." - "Daugther of the day laborer Julius Carl Sabin residing in Danzig and his deceased wife Helene Wilhelmine née Gutzeit, last residence Danzig." On top on the right side it says: "Der nebenbezeichnete Ehemann ist am 22. März 1945 verstorben. Standesamt Düsseldorf Nord 521/1945 Essen, den 30. Januar 1953" - "The husband mentioned on the left side of the record passed away on March 22, 1945. Registry Office Düsseldorf North 521/1945. [issued] Essen, January 30 1953."

August 1914. In Vertretung Böttger.

https://www.essen.de/rathaus/aemter/ordner_41/stadtarchiv/bestaende/bestaende_familienforschung.de.html
http://digital.ub.uni-duesseldorf.de/ihd/periodical/structure/8407116
https://www.duesseldorf.de/stadtarchiv/service/ahnen.html
Ich hoffe, dass hilft weiter.
Michael
