Greetings,
A few of us Balamut's have been working on the family tree and we hit a roadblock beyond my great grandparents.
I think there is a good representation in Sokolow.
Can anyone help us?

Thanks

Hi Russ!
Surely someone here can comment on your family name, but if you could provide more info it might help. Can you give us a summary of what info you already have about your family and where you got it?

Hi Shellie, sorry it took so long to get back with you, but my computer passed away.
I've been working with family members and have had a brief contact with a cousin in Poznan but I haven't been able to reach him since. I also have a possible relative that I met online that has a Balamut geneology that covers several Balamut families.
I have gotten back as far as what is my Great, great grandfather Blazej Balamut and his wife Julia Tabaka. To start with the most accurate of information, we will begin with my Great-Great Grandfather, Blazej Balamut.
Blazej married Julia Tabaka and they had one child, our Great Grandfather Jan Balamut.
Jan and Agniesjka Piela came to America and using Immigration manifests, both had resided in Austria. Jan immigrated in 1906 and was from Kobozawa, an Austrian partition of Poland which is a historical region Galicia : www.halgal.com

Jan married Agniesjka Piela and this couple had 12 children:

Tomasz Balamut (Minnesota Balamut’s) Married Mary Pawlus. Children: Michael, Irene, Rose, William and Robert.
Tomasz passed away on July 7, 1957 and Mary, February 9, 1960.
Tomasz’s place of residence before coming to America was Trzbuka, Austria and he was 29 years of age upon arrival at Ellis Island.
Tomasz was born in a village named Trzebuska in Podkarpackie woj. (Poland, see map) with 1800 inhabitants.
Tomasz was my grandfather.
I sure would be glad if I could find some more information.

Thanks...Russ
