Hello. I found this post when I did a search for dzianisz. My great-grandfather was also from this town. He immigrated in 1908. His name was Jan Habina. I am trying to locate more information about him, and I saw the post about the book. Do you know of any other people interested in selling their books? Gregory - did you receive the book? If so, is it possible to chat about a few pages in it?

Thank you,
Fiona Sutton

Hello Fiona - I do have a copy of the book and I would be happy to help you with any info that is contained in it. I don't believe the author has any more copies for sale, but I can ask her on your behalf if you would like.

Hi - My ancestors were from the village of Dzianisz, not far from Zakopane. Can someone tell me if the church records for the village have been made available to the public? Is there an archdiocese or archive where they might be held? I know they aren't indexed on FamilySearch, but is there perhaps an un-indexed set of records for the town that the LDS library holds that I could acquire?

Any advice is appreciated.
Gregory

The village and parish list from the Krakow Archdiocese archive includes Dzianisz, listed in the parish of Chochołów. Nothing is digitized but they do hold duplicate registers of the originals, though not every village/parish includes all the same years and there are gaps. I don't believe they do research for hire at all but if you are able to travel or hire a researcher in southern Poland, access to those documents before ~1890 back to about 1795 is not too complicated.
