Post subject: Zmich (born 1828) and Kucharsko from Prussia
Not sure this is where to post this question. But can't figure out how to start a new discussion in the forum.
I am looking for information on Casimer Zmich - born 1828 to Joseph Zmich and Eva Kucharsko in Prussia. Earliest found in the 1870 census in Huron County Michigan. Can't find records on entering the country, either USA or through Canada.
I did a quick search in the Geneteka database using his parents names and I think I found the index for their marriage record in Koronowo, Kujawsko-Pomorskie. Here is the link:
Attached is an image of the screenshot. Perhaps another member of the community can locate the actual marriage record. It would also make sense that Joseph's birth record is also in Kornowo, but I could not find it in the Geneteka index.

Thank you for the info. I am really trying to find info on Casimer's immigration to the US. He was my great-great grandfather. I remember his son John, who was my great grandfather. Family history and the 1870 census say that John (born 1863) and his older brother Anton (born 1861) were born in Pennsylvania - but I can't find any record of the family actually ever being in Pennsylvania. Anton's death certificate says he was born in Poland (Prussia?) in 1861 and came to America in 1867. This makes some sense - since according to the 1870 census the third son, Alexander was born in Michigan in 1867.
