Post subject: Need Help on Gartenbergs of Drohobycz
I am trying to find out the postal address for any Gartenbergs that were living in Drohobycz in 1939. Most of the Gartenbergs fled shortly before and shortly after the German invasion of September 1, 1939. The Gartenbergs were very well to do and owned "The Gartenberg Villa" in Debina. This estate apparently had a couple of houses on it. Here is a link to a photograph of the Villa:
Hi Keith
Do you know this database: Victims of the Nazi Regime-Database of Polish citizens repressed under the German Occupation .
Israel Gartenberg born 22.dec. 1900 and Juliusz Gartenberg born 28.jan. 1913 both are in this database.
Yes, thank you. I am familiar with that database. Those two I have not been able to link to my family tree. The two important names in my research are Wilhelm "Wolko" Gartenberg born 3 Feb 1884 in Drohobycz and Alexander "Abraham"Gartenberg born 1869. The state I mentioned originally was owned by their father Moses Gartenberg. Thanks for taking the time to provide information.
Keith
