Hi, My grandfather, Stanislaw Boltrukiewicz, His mother Michalina Boltrukiewicz, Father Edward? Boltrukiewicz and a sister or daughter, Michalina, who died young possibly from the Russian Influenza of 1889 to 1904. My grandfather, Stanislaw was born in 1893 in the village of Michaliszki, Poland now in Belarus. My family was under Russia rule when the were all born which I believe was Vilna in Russia, Wilno in Poland. I have been searching for many months and believe I got a few hit in the Russian Samara Church Books but they are in Russian. Document's over 100 years old would be at one of the Polish State Archives? or possibly Lithuania since the Union of Lublin? Or Belarus now? The Church was St. Michael the Arch Angel which is now in Belarus. Thank you for any help you may give me. I am on Ancestry but don't think they have the records I need. Again thank you

Hi again,

I did a bit of looking around, and it seems the church is still a functioning parish. You can try contacting the parish church for records. You can also contact the civil archives. Doing both might be a good idea. I was unable to find a web page for the parish church or the village, so it will take some sleuthing. Have you looked at the links on this wiki page from Family Search? Perhaps you can sift through the links to see if you can find at least an address or phone number. Here is the wiki page:

https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Belarus_Church_Records

Per the previous links I provided, The village of Michaliszka is currently in the region of Ostrowiecki in the county of Grodno.

The parish church is probably (not sure) part of the diocese of Grodno. I found the website for the diocese of Grodno, but it is written in what seems to be Russian and Google cannot translate the page.

It is a lovely little church.... here is a link with some pictures in case you haven't seen it:

You may need to hire a local researcher who speaks the language to help you with this one...
Good luck in your searching,
Cynthia
