Post subject: Zambik (Zabik) Relatives
Looking for information on Joseph & John Zambik (Zabik). Both born in Poland (possibly Glinik Dolny, Frzystak Poland area). Both married in Poland. John born about 1893 & immigrated to US in 1911; Joseph born about 1898 & immigrated in 1913.
Only record found was 1920 census where they appear boarding with their sister Zofia (Zabik) Kalisz in Chicopee, Massachusetts. No other information known about them. Any information about them or their families will be appreciated.

Hi Burja!
Welcome to Polish Origins! Perhaps you can tell us what you know about the family member you have the most info about and someone might recognize something here. Did the entire Zabik family change the surname to Zambik? What has led you to believe that they may have come from Glinik Dolny? You mentioned ages and immigration years - did you locate ship arrival info for them? If so, what have you found?
A message was posted summer 2011 on the Ancestry.com message boards with the same Kalisz and Zabik surnames - your post also?

Looking for family information on Wojciech (Albert) Kalisz
from Glinik Dolny. He married Zofia Wegat from Twierdza, Poland. One of three sons is my grandfather(Stanislaw), they also had three daughters-Matylda, Maryja & Wladyslawa.
All children immigrated to the United States & lived in Massachusetts.
Also seek information on Zofia Zabik daughter of Joseph Zabik & Maryanna Antosz from Glinik Dolny. She married Stanislaw in Adams, Massachusetts.
There is a marriage record for Jan Zabik on FamilySearch.org at:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.2/9JCM-J2T/p1
I've pasted an image below. Entry number 82, third entry from bottom. Is this the John Zabik you are searching for?
I hope this helps you. Again, welcome to Polish Origins!

Thank-you Shellie-
This is indeed my great uncle. My grandparents were Joseph & Maryanna (Antosz) Zabik. I believe that the name was written phonetically & was actually not changed when they did the 1920 census. The accent on the "a" makes it sound like ""am". I was incorrect when I indicated them being from Glinik Dolny......That is where my grandfather Kalisz is from not the Zabik's. Yes, all the post are mine. I checked family search.org but only got the 1920 census. This was my source of information for the birth & immigration. Pleased with this information. Any more wouuld be appreciated. Again, thanks, Burja

Hi Burja,
Would you mind sharing the link to that 1920 census page? Just curious to see the entry you are speaking of.

Hi Shellie,
Sorry, I'm not exactly computer savvy & have never tried sharing a link. The census can be found on family search & ancestry.com. Look up John Zambik...lived in Chicopee, Ma. not Adams. He is listed with Joseph as boarders with my grandparents Stanley (misspelled Stavey) & Sophie Kalisz whose maiden name was Zabik.. I know that my grandmother has a brother John because I have a picture of the two of them together. Again sorry, Burja

OK - I'll look for it later tonight. For sharing a link, you can highlight the link in the address line, click Control C to copy it and then when you are writing your message here in PO, you can click Control V to paste it. No need to do it now, but if you decide you'd like to try, send it to me in a private message for practice. Smiles, Shellie
