Post subject: Kuczek in Wroblowka / Dzielski in Dzial
Hello,
I just came across a US marriage record that showed my great grandmother, Aniela Kuczek, had a guardian when she was married in Gallitzin, PA. I am trying to figure out if and how they were related.
The family story was that Aniela traveled to Chicago to stay with a cousin in 1906. The passenger list has her cousin's name as Rozalia Kaminska. Aniela worked in a sewing factory in Chicago and lost the top of her pinky in an accident. At some point, she traveled from Chicago to Gallitzin, PA. She married Jozef Szeliga, who emigrated from Ciche in 1905. They were married on June 11, 1907 in Gallitzin.
Aniela was born on February 17, 1889 in Wróblówka to Andrzej Kuczek and Agnes Kita.
The name of her guardian was Stanislaw Dzielski (b. Dzial on 30 Oct 1885 to Kazimierz and Anna Dzielski). Based on research, it looks like Stanislaw Dzielski travelled from Dzial to Altoona, PA in January 1905. He was on the same ship as Jozef Kuczek above.
I'm trying to determine if there is a familial connection between Aniela and Stanislaw - or why he might have been named as her guardian in the US. I'd appreciate any suggestions or tips for how to explore this possible connection.
Thanks,
Jen
