When I visited Krakow in 1976 (with my parents), there was a display of folk arts set up in the Market Square outside the Cloth Hall. Many women were demonstrating traditional textile arts, and I spent much time photographing them.

If you click on the picture below, it will take you to my webshots album(s) with more pictures.

and then, when I visited Poland in 2004 and met Zenon and Magda, they showed me beautiful embroideries. Magda described this one as very tyical of the Rzeszow area (where my ancestors came from)

There is a photo in my mother's house. It was taken somewhere in Holland during one of our concerts. I am dancing there a dance from Przeworsk region (about 40 kilometers east from Rzeszow) and I am wearing a costume from Rzeszow region. As I remember, the pattern on the apron is the same as the one above. I will try to find it. If I have a luck I will show you that costume.

I have finally found it. The quality is not too good because it is a paper photo, not a digital one (it was taken in '96 - before a digital pictures era Laughing ). Look at the apron - the embroidery on it is almost the same as you have got. Patterns on man's and woman's shirts are in the same style.
