Post subject: German Marriage Record Translation
Hi Michael,
Can you please help me with the following marriage record? I don't need a full translation.
Friedrich (Fryderk) Siewert married Wilhelmine Brasch in 1877 in Bartschin (Barcin).
Friedrich (Fryderk) Siewert's parents are: Friedirch Siewert and Marianna Golubska.
Can you please tell me the date of birth for the groom?
Can you please tell me if the parents of the groom are alive?
I believe the date of marriage is 8 October 1877. Is this correct?
Thank you for your help!
Trish

Post subject: German Marriage Record Translation
Hi Michael,
Can I please get a full English translation of the marriage record of Wojciech Rojewski and Franciszka Pisarska? Does it say anything about Franciszka being married before or having children out of wedlock?
This is what I know:
Wojciech (Adalbert) Rojewski married Franciszka Pisarska on 29 January 1894 in Gonsawa (Gasawa).
Wojciech Rojewski was born on 20 March 1837 in Gembitz (Gebice) Mogilno, to Matteusz Rojewski and Anna Tytz. Wojciech Rojewski was a widow.
Franciszka Pisarska was born on 22 September 1853 in Gonsawa (Gasawa) to Augustyn Pisarski and Floratyna Golubska. Her parents are deceased.
Thank you so very much for your help and time with this request. Have a wonderful day!
Trish

Hi Trish,
In the record is not mentioned whether Wojciech Rojewski was a widower. Looking at his age it seems plausible. Franciszka wasn’t married before [“die unverehelichte”]. There is neither a hint about children nor would I expect such a hint in a civil marriage's record.
B. No. 4.
Gonsawa, on January 28, 1894.
Before the undersigned registrar appeared today for the purpose of marriage:
1. The brickmaker [Ziegler] Adalbert Rojewski, of known identity, of Catholic religion, born on March 30 [not 20, please note the “ß”], 1837 in Gembitz, county Mogilno, residing in Gonsawa, son of the deceased spouses carpenter [Zimmermann] Mathias and Anna born Tytz – Rojewski, last resident in Gembitz.
2. The unmarried laborer [Arbeiterin] Franziska Pisarska, of known identity, of Catholic religion, born on September 22, 1853 in Gonsawa, county Znin, residing in Gonsawa, daughter of the deceased spouses butcher [Fleischer] August and Florentine born Golubska – Pisarski, last resident in Gonsawa.
Best regards,
Michael

Hi Michael,
Thank you so much for the full translation of Franciszka Pisarska's marriage record. Now I have extra proof about Franciszka's parents. I have a cousin who didn't believe me as to whom her parents were. Your translation is the verification I needed.
One note: Wojciech Rojewski was born March 20 per the Church Baptismal record. It looks like March 20. The registrar must have wrote the wrong date. I am attaching the record to make sure I am reading March 20.
I am also attaching the Church marriage record for them which shows Wojciech is a widow and Franciszka Pisarska as a "deflowered virgin".
I just wish I could find some more clues on the father (Wincenty Belling), of all the illegitimate Pisarski children.
Thank you again for all your time and your help.
Have a wonderful day!
Trish

Post subject: German Records Translation
G'day Michael
I should start with an apology for sending so many records at once. I'm having difficulty locating the death record of August Bilinski in Poznan so was hoping there may be some details in these records of his children's marriages that may assist. From the records I sent the other week I know he was alive when his son was born in 1879, and that he had died in Fort VI by the time of his daughters marriage in 1892. He appears to have been married possibly 3 times (I can only locate 2 at the moment although his first 2 wives have Magdalena as first names {maybe the surnames are not right?]).
If you can translate the attached records please. I'll need to send over 3 requests.
Cheers
Ted
