Post subject: Searching for Lipinski relatives in Zegrze or Wola Smolana
I am looking for a way to access information in the Zegrze or Wola Smolana area of Poland. Both Zegrze and Wola Smolana are about 20, or so, miles north of Warsaw. My mother, Helena Mazurek nee Lipinska, was born in Warsaw. Her father Anton Lipinski was born in Zegrze. His parents had a farm in the village of Wola Smolana. His father's name was Adam.
Is there any way I can access state or church records for either of these locations? I would love to know if there are any remaining Lipinski's in either place. I do know that they lived there during WWII. My mother came to America after the war but never made any contact with her father's family.
Any help someone can give me would be so appreciated! I have done many years of research on my father's family in Poland but hope to find out more from my mother's side.
Thank you, Jannie

Gilberto,
Thank you very much for your information! Question, can I send a request to the USC in Serock in english? My Polish is not adequate. Would they look up information for me? I'm in the US.

Jannie,
Though some sources state that you can write your requests in english, I myself always prefer to write them in polish, with the help of volunteers. Their answer will be in polish, the official language. As a rule of thumb, information from USC will only be given to immediate family members. However, some gentle souls out there may provide you the info you need (with no copy of the record) or, with a bit of luck, even a copy of the record itself!
