Hi Barb,

I would love to see the school documents if you could post a link! Thank you so much!

I checked the churches of The Wilno area but didn’t find anything.

Thanks Barb!

I found this in the school documents:
The children of Jakub Wójtowicz and Henryka nee Janas. Jakub was a peasant in Żarnowiec. The family lived in house no. 13.
Władysław 12.10.1891 in Żarnowiec, he was deaf
Amalia 1.01.1894 in Żarnowiec
Józefa 1.04.1898 in Żarnowiec, he still lived in Zarnowiec in 1909
Jan* 8.04.1900
Jan 12.08.1904, he still lived in Zarnowiec in the early summer of 1913
Stanisław Adam 7.05.1907, died in 1908

* Strange that both children were named Jan. Jan, who was born in 1900, did not die until 1904.
I'll send the links in a few minutes.

Wow thank you Barb! I was able to trace Amelia's parents back a few years but was unable to get any records for Amelia and didn't know any of her siblings. This is great!

Thanks so much!

Hi Nick,

What else do you know about the Wojtowicz family? You know Amalie's date of birth (1/1/1894) and know the names of her parents (Jakub and Henryka nee Janas). Do you know Amalie's siblings? Did the whole family emigrate to the US?

Best regards,
- Barb

Hi,
I can say for sure that some of the family stayed in Poland. Józefa (my great-great grandmother) married Franciszek Dubis. They lived in Żarnowiec and had four children. I don't know anything about other children of Jakub and Henryka though.
