It appears that the Moikrewni surname search does not support wildcards, and you have to type the exact spelling, including Polish letters.

Thus, entering Mankowski will give different, and much fewer, results than Mańkowski (n with a dash above).

I assume that the Mankowski results show people actually using the less common variant with a "bare" letter n.

Moikrewni will not give you the closest alternative spelling by asking you: Did you mean .... like Google does.

If you can't be bothered to change your keyboard language settings, you can type and copy "Polish letters" (with diacritic marks) using the PolishOrigins Databases tool.
