A good reference source. I had found my then missing great grandfather, Jozef Mytych, in the listing.

It is a crime that the leadership of the United States decided to turn a blind eye to the incident in the attempt to placate the Soviets when they were our ally in WWII - "for the enemy of my enemy is my friend."
However, the reason, calming Cold War tensions, after WW II, just plain reek of political expediency and cowardice.
I am ashamed of my country that it hid the truth for so long and never called for an accounting by the guilty parties.

Well said. 72 years later and our government has yet to issue a simple apology for failing to hold the Soviets accountable.
