Hi,
Szkolnik, szkolny, skolnik - the term I have seen only in Jewish records. It means a synagogue sexton.
I can look into this later today.

Thank you. Christian and Paul have both been labelled teacher and cantor in other records that I have seen.

Hello. I’m still waiting for a translation of this marriage record that I posted over 3 weeks ago. Not sure if I did something incorrectly or if I’ve just been forgotten about.
Thanks to a kind message I’ve learned that “Sepultura” refers to a death certificate. After continuing to work on this record, I’m most curious about the name of Wojciech Grad’s wife. It looks like “Hezuy”, but Geneteka states that it is “Ewa”. I’m also unsure about the bride’s maiden name. Would it be Orła, Orłow, or something else? In their children’s birth records, her name appears as Orzoł and Orzeł. Also, I’m assuming the last name of the groom is Grad even though it sometimes appears as Gradziak or Grada. Is that right?
Thanks very much for your help. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi again,
This marriage record is very unclear, and therefore not easy to read. I tried my best, but I am unsure of some words.
See attachment.

Thank you. This has been helpful in chipping away at the brick wall I am facing for Paul, Helene and their parents.

Hi,
I have read some documents concerning Krystian Treychel where his profession is teacher. But as I said I have only seen the term “szkolnik” in Jewish documents.
“szkola” in Polish means school, so there is an explanation for that.
Sent you a PM.
