Why is it so difficult to find my ancestor in Poland??? I´m looking for Paulus Konieczny born in Niegowic born in the year 1886. He and his wife Marie moved to Bornholm Denmark probably before world war 1. Thats what I was told anyway. I´m looking for living relatives to those two. Hope you can help me.

There were hundreds of Konieczny in places north of Krakow, but Niegowić is south of Krakow. In Nasza Klasa (nk.pl) I have found two Konieczny in Gdów, which is the gmina that Niegowić belongs to. The distance is about 4 km, as the crow flies. One more thing, Paulus is the latinized form for Paweł.

Hello,
It does not have to be difficult. Just requires some search Smile. You should first describe what you have done so far so that somebody coud advice following steps. Have you tried to contact the parish in Niegowic? Then there is a curch archive in Krakow that may have some records for 19th century (they will reopen in October). A state archive in Bochnia have records for years 1890-1905 (1908 for deaths). In the sam earchive there are some registers of citizens for 1950s-1970s that can hep to find the links betwin your ancestors and living relatives.

So it seems you can exclude state archives in Bochania. Earlier records (births of Maria and Paul (Paweł)) can be in a church in Niegowic and/or in a church archives in Kraków. Later records (birth of Anna) in a church in Niegowic and in a loca civil registry office: Urząd Gminy w Gdowie
Urząd Stanu Cywilnego
32-420 Gdów, Rynek 40
phone +48 12 251 41 66, +48 12 251 42 66
They may ask you to prove that you are asking about ancestors, may ask you for a year and may charge you for the transcript (they normaly do not provide copies but you can of course ask them)

Take a look in "folketæling". See http://www.sa.dk/ao/SoegeSider/Folketaelling.aspx

In the first field you select the year 1911.

In the next field you select "landsogn"

In the third field you select "Amt Bornholm"

Do not use the field called "herred"

In the last field calles "sogn" you select "Rø"

And in "opslag 8" you can find him and his wife and their two children.

Take a look In "folketælling" 1921 opslag 10

Best regards
