@Daniel
"There is a program of indexing parish records leading on polish genelogy site. Maybe in a free time i will contibute my records' copies to them."

Where is this polish genealogy site? Where would you post some of your records? Would you like help to transcribe more records in addition to those you sent me back in March? Roseanne

I am interested too by Polish genealogy site.

I wonder which software they use. Here in France the most common is Heredis, I bought it when started to do the French side.

I would love to be in the loop.

By "program" i meant a project of digitilizing of parish records and indexing of all names from that records. I didn't mean a computer application, i should have been more specific.
So, there is polish genealogy site where you can post pictures of records and list of born, dead, married peoples to make it easier to find ancestors, you know, all just in one place. I'm not sure if there is allowed to linking to other sites, but i'll risk: here http://metryki.genealodzy.pl/metryki.php you can find real photos of records (digitilized), here: http://www.geneszukacz.genealodzy.pl/ you will find your surname in a few collections (parish records from all over the Polandand other data), and there: http://parafie.genealodzy.pl/ should be a catalogue of accesible records in churches or national archives, but it's not up to date. So i would contribute photos to first database (metryki) just to make it available to anyone that want to index them (geneszukacz).
Actually Frostyrose33, if you want to index/transcribe records, i'd love to send you the records, but documents take lot of space and uploading them by internet would take too much time for me. I will think about compressing records somehow to make it possible, just hope to not sacrifice the quality. I would provide you help with deciphering "corner cases", some experience would be helpful for sure. Especially with dealing with polish words.

Thank you Sirdan for URLs.

Do you happen to have records from Markowa, circa 1850 to 1889, or earlier, and if yes, could you share it here?

Concerning volume: how big it is? (per page?)

Re: Question from Zenon // technicalities of tadeusz.inglot.com

From here, France, both my office and my home, nothing is blocked.

Name: tadeusz.inglot.com
Address: 204.93.168.132
Whois says Mochanin Corp. SCNET-204-93-168-0-24

The website is hosted on a virtual machine, more than hundred different domain names with 1 IP address.

Blocking a website is *always* tricky.

Thank you Elzbieta for information from your side. Here: http://safebrowsing.clients.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?client=Firefox&hl=en-US&site=http://redoperabwo.ru/ you can find content of the alert which appeared when we click on the website tadeusz.inglot.com from our locations in Poland.

Of course, it may be false alarm, but I want to be sure that our members and visitors are not affected by malicious software.

@Sirdan: I would love to transcribe more pages. It would be great if you would proofread and correct. I can open a .zip file on my computer. I have an Excel spreadsheet that works well for llisting the records. It would be great for those of us with roots in Podkarpackie to have more information available online. Also, thank you for the links. On http://metryki.genealodzy.pl/metryki.php, it was the first time I've seen images of records online! If you don't have my email address, send a private message to me for it.
@Elzbieta: Each photograph for the pages is about 2500 kb (2.5 megs) when I looked back on a couple of pages Sirdan had sent to me in the past.
@Zenon: I can still open Nicole's dad's page from the U.S. at home and at work.

I gathered myself and done what was unavoidable. I reviewed my records, removed doubles, made it smaller for upload, made easier to read. It's actually ready to decipher. Anyone who like to help transcribe and list all records, can download them here:

Code:
...

If anybody would like to make available the results of indexing on genealodzy.pl site (just for easier search fo all), here is explained how the form should look like, example of an excel form and what email one should send results: http://geneteka.genealodzy.pl/jak-indeksowac-U-Z.php and http://geneteka.genealodzy.pl/jak-indeksowac-M.php . As a side note, genaolodzy.pl is an official site of Polish Genalogy Association.

Hello Sirdan,

Just downloaded both files, but cannot unzip it, neither with PowerArchiver 2007 on Windows, nor with gunzip Linux.

So I started to seek what's wrong.

It is a GZIP file - code 4b50 (ZIP header shows 8b1f )
[PO]# od -h markowa1.zip | head
0000000 4b50

For this test I renamed markowa1.zip into markowa1.gz, and kept markowa2.zip

[PO]# gunzip markowa2.zip
gzip: markowa2.zip: unknown suffix -- ignored

(gunzip wishes to have .gz - so be it)

[PO]# gunzip markowa1.gz
gzip: markowa1.gz has more than one entry -- unchanged
[PO]#

Could you tell which program did you use and on which hardware/OS ? How to extract those files.

Thank you.
Elzbieta

NB. I assumed that sendspace.com is clean, and keeps integrity of files.

Mistake. I gave too much credit to sendspace.

Actually I wonder what sendspace.com is doing, because it says
markowa1.zip 149MB
markowa2.zip 160MB
while what I get is tiny-tiny.

If the total volume is this size, circa 310 MB, then it is circa 120 jpeg'files (with 2.5 MB/file), less than 500. Then it would be much easier to put jpeg files into a-to-be-created picasaweb.google.com account (one album is up to 500 images, usually jpeg), and share it by protected URL with audience here.
I can do it if I get files from sendspace.com ...

I checked both parts, downloaded and opened. All is correct.

If you get tiny zips downloaded, then it might be problem of your browser, use modern one like Firefox (i have). Or use download manager. Sorry i'm not going to send files somewhere else, my upload connction s*cks :/

For compressing files i used winrar, but .zip is .zip there is no ther version, no matter tool u use. Try also 7zip for decompressing. Both free.

I cannot open the "sendspace" files at work, maybe at home. At work, there is a message which appears, and include the phrase "accessing a website which has content that falls into the category of "Spyware/Malware Sources" is an unauthorized use". Is there another way to compress and share??

P.S. @Nicole: I am still thinking of Tadeusz Inglot, his wife Anna, and his parents, Antoni and Katarzyna, and hope to find something related to them.

https://www.dropbox.com offers free storage and sharing (after registration) up to about 2 GB. You can download the app so you can use this storage space as if it was additional folder on your computer. You drag and drop, or copy and paste files into the dropbox folder. You can enter email addresses of people you want to share the files with.

Good idea, Slav. Cloud storage.
Sirdan, http://www.mediafire.com would work too.
