Post subject: Tatarek family from Dabrowka
I am looking for any information of the Tatarek ancestors who gave their residence as Dabrowka between 1865-1890 when they immigrated to the US. I know they were Roman Catholic. These are the male immigrants that listed their residence as Dabrowka and settled in New Jersey and Pennsylvania: Adolf b.1876; Felix b.1886; Franciszek b.1892; Franciszek b. 1888; Teofil b. 1881. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hi,
There are several places called Dabrowka in Poland. Could you give us more information? Do you have any documents you can share with us? Manifest, census.

Hi Trish,
Thanks for the two Manifests. Yes, it looks like that Feliks is going to his father Stanislaw. And it helps a little to have his name. The marriage records of these children would probably give us the names of their parents.

Hi everyone,
Trish posted a manifest for Adolf that provides an interesting clue. Column 16 shows he is going to his uncle, Franc Griczinsky. If you look at Geneteka, Mazowieckie, there is in 1891 a birth of a Franciszek Tatarek, record 126, where the father's name is Stanislaw and the mother's name is Barbara Gryczyńska Zgliczyńska. I am not sure why the indexer added "Zgliczyńska" there because on the list of marriages it has Barbara Gryczyńska marrying Stanislaw Tatarek in 1875. For this birth, the parish is Czerwonka and the place of birth is Dąbrówka. This looks promising.
Here is a link to Geneteka, looking at births for all children of Stanislaw Tatarek with wife's name Barbara, for the range of years included in the first post of this thread:
https://geneteka.genealodzy.pl/index.php?op=gt&lang=pol&bdm=B&w=07mz&rid=B&search_lastname=Tatarek&search_name=Stanislaw&search_lastname2=&search_name2=Barbara&from_date=1875&to_date=1895
Dąbrówka is not listed as the place of birth for anyone other than Franciszek, however, I think they are still worth considering. The family may have moved around and Dąbrówka may have been the last place they lived prior to emigrating.
So, I think we are looking at the Dąbrówka in Gmina Czerwonka. What do you think?
Best regards,
Sophia

Hi Barb,
Thanks! That adds a lot of good information. In particular, I had wondered why there were two Franciszeks in the original list; now we know that one of them was Feliks.
Unless Trish is able to find additional ship manifests related to this family, I am going to hold off on doing further searching until we receive a reply from SPrettyman.
All the best,
Sophia

Hello SPrettyman,
We're a community of volunteers here, devoting our time and experience to helping people with their Polish genealogy questions. Barb, Trish and I provided you with several interesting pieces of information, from ship manifests to vital records. According to mapa.szukacz.pl there are 286 places in Poland with Dąbrówka in the name, and we have been able to find exactly which one your family came from.
It would make us happy to know that you saw our replies and that the research we have done on your family was useful.
Best regards,
Sophia
