My name is Mike Hudy. My grandfather Anthony came to the US from Nisko in 1912. On his first wife tekla's death certificate in 1919 he was listed as John. My family has no recollection of him being called john. Could this be a mistake? I have a feeling his father was John or Jan, but im not completely sure. Also looking for more information on Tekla who i believe had the last name Smoczenska. All i have found on her is a possible death date. The marriage record i found has John and Anna as his parents, and her parents as john and ludwika.

Mike,

I have found an Antoni Chudy who arrived at Ellis Islando on Sept 30,1912, sailing from Antwerp, on ship Lapland. He was 21, single and declared his father's name as Jan, living in Charasiuki, Bilgoraj. His destination was Michigan, Detroit., to a brother-in-law Makayne Bosecki (?) living at 42 28th st. Birth place listed as Charasiuki. (Actually, the place is now called Harasiuki. 24 km East of Nisko.

You mentioned a brother in law. I never knew about anthony having a sister or any siblings for that matter. I'll have to look into that. I know anthony didnt get married until 1916. His wife, Tekla, mentioned above, if i have the right one died in 1919. They had two children. My grandfather Joseph and his sister sophie. However on the 1930 census he is married to a Mary.
