On this manifest, line 15 for Sergey Selepena, can anybody identify the town for last residence, and closest relative? This man has one child living, age 81, and I would like to give this information to her.
thanks, Dave

Dave,

I believe the village is misspelled: I could not find it even in the Gegrafical dictionary of Poland (SGKP). However, it is mentioned in the manifest that is a place in g. Wolin (g. = gubernia, province of Woli, Wolyn, etc.) Check this; http://www.kresy.co.uk/wolyn.html.
I am just guessing it could Łuck, because of the way it sounds.

Dave,

additional info: a Pawel Selepina (wife Helena) arrived at Ellis Island and he was from Wolyn, too. His place is listed as Derazne.
The place is mentioned here: http://www.kresy.co.uk/wolynlistofvillages.html#d as part of Kostopol county.
Kostopol is mentioned here: http://www.kresy.co.uk/smaller_towns.html
Kostopol and Derazne appears on this map http://www.kresy.co.uk/wolyndistrict.html and they are not that far from Luck, as I mentioned before.

Gilberto
Thanks for the quick reply. I figured the spelling was off, but just could not get it.

Dave,,
If it wasn't for Pawel's arrival, I wouldn't have figured it out, too.
