Hi JoLoBec,

I can see you are trying to test whether you will receive an email notification of any replies to your post, so that you don't miss a response on your recent translation request. Since I am uncertain whether the system is set up to give you an email notification when you reply to your own post, I decided just to reply here so you can really be sure.

Hope it is working for you and that you get a response soon with the help you are waiting for.

Best regards,
Sophia

I've been having on and off issues logging in and have spoken with Dawid who looks after the website system and things work OK for a while then I can't get back in again. I've tried everything that I can think of (except I am not an IT administrator...!!) Anyhow, for now it seems I am back in the Forum! Sending you best wishes, Joanna

Yes, Sophia, that’s how the system is set up, unless you uncheck the option “Notify me when a reply is posted” before submitting your post.

We recently had an update to the main system for the entire website, so if any of you notice any issues, please let us know.

Best,

Hi Zenon,

Thank you for this information. I want to clarify my point. I know that "notify me when a reply is posted" is the default option. However, if I am still logged in to the forum when a person replies to my post, I do not receive the email notification. So in this specific case that I was talking about above, where I am posting a reply to my own post, I do not think an email notification will be sent because (of course) I am still logged in when making that reply.

Am I correct?

Best regards,
Sophia

Sophia,

I needed to test this specific situation, and it showed that when I was logged into the forum, I received the response in the forum I also got an email notification about that response immediately. So it seems to be working in this case as well.

Best,
Zenon

Thanks, Zenon.
I am just checking to see if it works for me, too.

No, I did not receive any email telling me that I had replied to my own post.
Very interesting.

Hi Zenon,
When you replied to me on this thread, I received an email. When I reply to my own posts (that is, I make two posts in a row) then I do not receive an email. This is what I have observed on many threads, for a long time.
I will stay logged in and wait for your reply to this post.
Sophia

P.S. If anyone reading this could please reply to it, then I would have my answer to the question. Thanks!

Hi Zenon and Sophia,

Zenon, I do have it checked off where I am "supposed" to receive notifications when someone posts a relpy. However, most of the times I do not get any type of message that someone posted to my post or to a post that I was responding to.

I do hope that you can get to the bottom of this issue. I feel as though this is the reason why so many people do not reply to a request for they did not know someone responded to their request.

Thank you for all you do with keeping this forum up and running!

Warm Regards,
Trish

Thanks, Trish!

I did receive an email notification just now, even though I am logged on to the forum. So now I have learned that being logged on is not what prevents me from receiving an email notification.

Hi Sophia,
I just got a notification also. However, I was logged into the forum. I have to see if I get a notification when I am logged out.

Warm Regards,
Trish
