I am trying to find my grandfather Piotr Jan Hajduk he also had 2daughters Josephine and Wanda.
And my father Jan Piotr Hajduk.
Born 15 May 1923 in Wielki komorsk Kujawsko Pomorskie Poland.
He came to Australia as a displaced person after the war.
He died on the. 28th October 2016 in Hobart Tasmania Australia
Any information would be greatly appreciated
Piotr Jan Hajduk was married to Stanislawa Cmoluch Hajduk
I believe she was born in Boguslawitze
Her death was around 1942- 1943
Most of my father’s family were killed on the same day.
My father and grandfather were away at the time and so they survived.
I have the information on my father coming to Australia.
My grandfather remarried sometime after the war but not sure on her name.
He also had another son l don’t know anything about him
My grandfather passed away around 1960 in Poland.

Hi,
Welcome to the Forum.
Here are indexes from parish Wielki Komorsk on Genetyka.
https://geneteka.genealodzy.pl/index.php?op=gt&lang=eng&bdm=D&w=02kp&rid=431&search_lastname=hajduk&search_name=&search_lastname2=&search_name2=&from_date=&to_date=&rpp1=&ordertable=
I can't see many surnames Hajduk / Hayduk. Can you tell us a little more. Do you have any information about your grandmother?

Regards,
-Barb

Hi Barb,
If you go back to Geneteka and search Wielki Komorsk for the year 1923 and do NOT put any surname in the search box, you will see the indexer has indexed births for that year with only given names, no surnames.

I saw that, Sophia. I have the opportunity to check birth records up to 1920. I would like to have more information. I suspect that the family comes from somewhere nearby. The surname Hajduk is almost non-existent in Wielki Komorsk.

Hello everyone
I had hoped that the information from Trish would open the door to many new facts, but unfortunately I can't find anything. Komorsk Wielki has good indexes for the time we are interested in. Nor is the surname Cmoluch to be seen. Genetyka has only 6 cases, and none of them in kujawsko pomorskie.

Hello,
Unfortunately I have not finished the work I wanted to send you. You must be patient. Some attachments are too large and I cannot send them in the Forum. Will need your email. Here is the birth record of Jan Hajduk, born 1923 in Wielki Komorsk and the wedding record of his parents, Piotr and Stanislawa nee Cmoluch (1920).

On February 2, 1944, residents of Szczecyn and its neighboring villages (Borów, Wólka Szczecka, Łążek Zaklikowski, Łążek Chwałowski, Karasiówka) were murdered by a German and Ukrainian soldiers of several thousand men. The occupiers burned the villages to the ground, murdering between 260-370 people, including many women and children. Among them were family members of your grandfather Jan.
I can't map them all, but I'm working on it. The Hajduk and Cmoluch families belonged to places that are far apart. See map.
I'll send you a chart of your grandfather Jan's ancestors as soon as possible.

-Barb

Hi Annette,
I have managed to find this so far. There is still a lot of work left. Some questions have come up along the way. This is a draft that needs to be checked again.
