Post subject: the name Antoniego
I just received some info on possible Polish ancestors and one man has the given name Antoniego. Is this a Polish given name, or perhaps a name in Latin?

If it is in Polish, it is in genitive case, and means, "Of Antoni."

In addition to what Staripolak has told you, I think you should know that names and surnames appear in a declensioned form in vital records, but not in all positions.
Some examples:
Witnesses:
Jan appears as Jana
Joanna appears as Joanny
Jozef apppear as Jozefa
Jozefa appears as Jozefy
In birth records, the child's name and his/her godparents' are not declensioned.
The surname:
Jurkowski may appear as Jurkowskiego, Jurkowskiej, Jurkowskiem, Jurkowskich, Jurkowscy. I don't know how these declensions work for surnames that do not end as -ewski/-owski.

Post subject: Antoniego of Antoni and Italy in my wife´s ancestry
Just in April 2026 joined the group as my wife´s family is of di/de Antonini(s) from Italy known there since 1308. But the family branch left for Cracow in 1400ies and for Hungary, Cassovia and returns from there as Jan (Giovanni) di Antoninis but the name is written in the Cracow university files as of Antoniego family, Jan doctor for Zyrgmund the Old of Poland. The family goes on in the Swiss areas as Antonini, and Polish and Prussian, Swedish areas as de Antoninis and in ca 1700 as Anthoni/Anthonius/Antonius/Anthoniis/Anthonij etc in 6 branches in Sweden and Finland (then part of Sweden). I have always had problems to undestand this Antoniego - the father for Jan was Anton. The Antonini variations are taken in Italy during around 1350-1400 and before the family name was another. The DNA is exiting and likely from Estonia - Gotland- Southern Sweden - Pommern. And Antoniego is found just in Pommern also. Any information on Antoniego or related would be wonderful. I am a historian, just this Easter in Friuli meeting the Antonini family there.
