Post subject: walddeutsche
Hello, my Rejman grandfather came from Czarna Lancut and was most likely a descendant of the Walddeutsche. Does anyone have any information on where in they came from in Germany?

I'm puzzled as to their cousin relationship with my father, Edward Inglat (b. 1928), whose father was Wojciech Inglot (b. 1896; He changed the family name to Inglat in the U.S.) married to Zofia Flejszar, and the grandfather was Sobestyan Inglot (b. 1870) and grandmother, Mary Bytnar. I was hoping to make a connection between the Cyran, Flejszar, Inglot, and Kud families, especially. There is a family cemetery not far from St. Dorota church where Zofia's parents, Andrzej Flejszar and Mary Szajer, and Jozef's grandparents were buried.
I have been trying to learn the history of the area. My father acknowledged the Walddeutsche German colony settlements, but was told by his father that the Inglot name is of Swedish origin, from the invasion and battles there around 1650. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deluge_(history). I am not so sure that my father was correct. While we may have some Swedish, the predominance of Gluchoniemy in the descendants of Markowa seems very clear. Thank you Zenon, for your reply. It's all very fascinating.
Additionally, there is a memorial plaque with some of the family names listed. http://www.riesenbach.com/Sep25-00/html/5MarkowaMemorial.htm
in tribute to the Ulma family and 8 other Markowans who perished at the hands of the Nazis, as told by Mr. Reisenbach at this website: http://www.riesenbach.com/riesenbachstory.html
This plaque is on an administrative building in Markowa, on the land where Zofia Flejszar was raised as a child in a thatched roof house. The house was torn down, and the administrative building was built there. There is a similar home, which has been moved to the Museum of Markowa. The last resident in this home was Maria Inglot. I'm not sure of my relationship to her, except in name only.
Other family names to include: More distant relationships, such as cousins, aunts and uncles with the names Tejchma, Balawejder, Bar, and Michnar. |
hi frostyrose! do you still post on this forum? jacek tejchma is my uncle

Post subject: I am looking for: “Tejchma Ryznar Research 2005.pdf” shared
Hello,
I have recently joined PolishOrigins because I am researching my family from Markowa.
I am especially researching the Kielar, Szylar, Ryznar, Szpytma, Grad, Cynar and Bąk families.
I found this old thread and noticed that several very valuable files and scans concerning Markowa were shared here in the past.
In particular, I am looking for:
“Tejchma Ryznar Research 2005.pdf” shared by Howard Tejchma in 2013
older scans or transcriptions of the Markowa parish records
any records from Markowa from before 1890
I have already confirmed the following ancestors from original marriage records:
Antoni Kielar, born 18 May 1884, son of Wojciech Kielar and Katarzyna Cynar, married Katarzyna Grad on 18 November 1908.
Franciszek Szylar, born 30 October 1884, son of Antoni Szylar and Katarzyna Bąk, married Franciszka Ryznar on 27 July 1910.
Franciszka Ryznar was the daughter of Jan Ryznar and Wiktoria Szylar.
I am now trying to find the earlier marriages:
Wojciech Kielar × Katarzyna Cynar
Antoni Szylar × Katarzyna Bąk
Stefan Grad × Franciszka Szpytma
Jan Ryznar × Wiktoria Szylar
@Tejchmah – if you still have a copy of your Tejchma Ryznar Research 2005, I would be extremely grateful if you could share it again.
@sirdan – I saw that you had access to and shared older Markowa records. If you still have any of those scans or transcriptions, I would be very grateful for anything covering approximately 1850–1890.
@frostyrose33 – if you still have your Markowa record files or any additional scans, I would also be very interested.
Thank you very much for any help. Even a partial scan, transcription or information about where the older Markowa books are currently held would be extremely useful.
Natalia

Hi Natalia,
Welcome to the forum!
The thread you replied to is several years old and unfortunately you don't seem to be having much luck getting a response.
While I cannot find any online records for the years you are asking about, I can help you with one point in your research. You wrote, “Antoni Kielar, born 18 May 1884, son of Wojciech Kielar and Katarzyna Cynar, married Katarzyna Grad on 18 November 1908.” You are hoping to find the marriage record for Wojciech Kielar and Katarzyna Cynar.
It appears to me that Antoni Kielar’s mother’s name was not Katarzyna, but rather Marianna. This is how I read it in his marriage record. I know you already have it, but just to make it easy, here is a link to marriage #23 in 1908, Antoni Kielar and Katarzyna Grad (see also my screen shot, below). It is on image 36:
https://fotolubgens.lubgens.eu/picture.php?/365582/category/6061
This appears to be confirmed by the record of one of the children of Antoni Kielar and Katarzyna Grad, their son Wojciech, birth #58 in 1913, where it shows Antoni’s parents as Wojciech and Marianna. Again, I have a screen shot below and the link is here, Skan 353:
https://www.szukajwarchiwach.gov.pl/jednostka/-/jednostka/34568250?_Jednostka_delta=20&_Jednostka_resetCur=false&_Jednostka_cur=18&_Jednostka_id_jednostki=34568250
Do you have Antoni's birth record or some other document that shows his mother’s name as Katarzyna? It would help you decide how to proceed in your research, when you do find records prior to 1890, if you could first untangle this issue of Antoni's mother's given name. Also, her maiden name seems to be Zyma, rather than Cynar.
I also think you have the incorrect name for Katarzyna Grad's mother. I see it in both of these records as Marianna/Maria Szpytma rather than Franciszka.
Best regards,
Sophia

Hi again Natalia,
I also took a look at the 27 July 1910 marriage in Markowa for Franciszek Szylar. I read the names differently here, as well.
I see Franciszek marrying Franciszka Zijma (not Ryznar). Franciszek's parents are Marcin Szylar and Marianna Bar. Franciszka's parents are Jan Zijma and Wiktoria Suchecka (not Szylar). I see the surname Zijma also written as Zima (one of the witnesses).
The link for this record is: https://fotolubgens.lubgens.eu/picture.php?/365591/category/6061
Best regards,
Sophia
