Here is a photo I received from relatives in Podszkle Poland. They wondered about the uniform

kandrolj...I tried doing some Google searches and wasn't able to find anything specific. However, there are a few possibilities that might help...

-The photo has been colored. That might mean it is more recent, say later than 1920 or so...maybe as late as 1940.

-Nearly all the Polish army uniforms I found include square caps, not round ones like in the photo. However there were a couple of exceptions I found. http://polishgreatness.blogspot.com/2012/04/world-war-2-military-uniforms-polish.html Scroll down on that page to the Polish Cavalry Officer (1939), where there is one round hat. But the part above the bill is gold and not blue like in your photo, so it might not be the same.

-Another possibility is that it is a police uniform...maybe even Granatowa policja, the Polish police in the German occupied Poland in WWII. I suspect there were quite a variety of police and self defense uniforms during that era, that are not well documented.

Good luck!

Eagle has no crown. So more likely post 1945. However some eagles without crowns were used interwar.
