Ciania - from the name of Łucjan. The name of Latin origin, from lux 'light', known in Poland since the XIII century. In the Middle Ages it was pronounced Łucyjan, Łuczan, in the Eastern Borderlands was pronounced Łukijan.
Pawyza - from the Old Polish 'paweza, pawęza, pawęż' a type of shield.
