Well, I can tell you the surname is quite famous, because of an actress Izabella Skorupko (Scorupco) which was a Bond girl ("Golden eye" I think). As many surnames with -o ending it is of eastern polish origin. Izabellla although living in Sweden was born in Bialystok in eastern Poland. The root of the name is "Skorupa" and this is in modern polish just "shell", "crust", something that coates something or a bit of an broken dish. It is hard to say what it meant in older days, but I think it was something that way.
