Post subject: Need help in Poland locating ancestors - Gnaty
Mój pradziadek Feliks Niesluchowski (ur. 1882) wyemigrował do Ameryki z Gnatach, Polska z przełomu 20 wieku i potrzebujesz pomocy w znalezieniu kogoś w obszarze Gnatach kto mi może pomóc odnaleźć resztę rodziny Feliksa. Jakieś sugestie?

There are a number of Gnaty, all in woj mazowieckie. about 50-150 km from Warszawa.
1) pow. ostrołęcki, gmina Lelis. parish Ostrołęka
2) 5 villages named Gnaty plus a name, pow. sierpecki, pow. pułtuski. gmina Winnica, parish Winnica
3) pow. sierpecki, gmina Gozdowo
4) Gnaty-Soczewka, pow mazowieckie, gmina Klukowo, parish Kuczyn
http://genealodzy.pl/name-katalog.phtml
Enter the parish name and click on the result.
Each of the parishes show researchers that have ancesters from the parish.
Try contacting them via that site (free registration) and add your name to the site giving the surname for which you are searching.

That is my dilemma. I don't know which one of the multiple Gnaty villages he came from. Another dilemma, I don't speak, or write in Polish and when i went to the website you listed in your post, I could not register. I even hit the "english" button but all the posts are written in Polish.

Welcome to the Forum Josephfed ,
Do you possibly have any document/record in which there is entered the name of your great grandfather's place of birth (or last residence)? If you uploaded it here who knows, maybe some of us would find a hint to tell you WHICH Gnaty is YOUR Gnaty.

Hi,
Geneteka database shows two Feliks Niesluchowski, born in 1880 and 1883 (close to your dates, therefore), in Winnica, mazowieckie province.
Winnica is located just 2 miles from 3 places named Gnaty: Gnaty-Lewiski, Gnaty-Wiesniany and Gnaty-Szczerbaki.
IMHO, chances are one of them is your Feliks. By the way, I could not find his entry in Ellis Island. Did he arrive through other port? His manifest may contain a clue that may lead you to the right path.
If you were able to register in Genealodzy, here is a text in polish you can send to the volunteer who transcribed those entries above.
From my experience, I can tell you that some volunteers keep a copy of the records they transcribed. I have been lucky in getting the ones I needed, so I hope you will be too. The volunteer goes by the nickname Sarna215. Since there is no way to know if it is a man or a woman you could write to both genders:
Witam,
Pozdrawiam

I have noticed that you(male)/you(female transcribed the record below:
Do you/you have additional information on this/these record(s)?
What should I do to get a copy of this/these record(s)?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best regards,

Sir, Thank you very much for the information you provided. I was able to register at Genealodzy so now I will submit request to Sarna215 because one of the 2 Feliks' has to be my ancestor. FYI, I don't know if Felix arrived at Ellis Island.

Can you explain how I can send Sarna215 a private message about my dilemma once I log on to Genealodzy?

On his WWII draft registration card it lists Felix's birthday as 27 August 1882

There are two days of reaching a volunteer.
- on the main page, click on the icon GT, on the top of the page
- now click on the icon of a magnifying lens
- type Niesluchows in the Nazwisko field, and click on the button Wyszukaj
- click on the word mazowieckie
- scroll the down the menu in Ksiega and choose Urodzenia (briths)
- type 1880 in the field Od roku and 1885 in the field Do roku
- if the Nazwisko filed is empty type Niesluchowski in it (if your computer is set to polish characteres, you can type Niesl~chuwoski and then mark the box Wyszukiwanie dokladne = exact matches)
- click on Wyszukaj button again
- both Felikses should appear listed as #6 and #7
- on the right side of the entry click on the capital A, in orange
- now click on Wyślij e-mail poprzez formularz
- a form will open to insert your text. if you want a copy of it, mark the box Wyślij kopię wiadomości do mnie
- type your text and click on Wyslyj
When you alread know the name of the volunteer:
- on the left side of the main page look for the word Uzytkownici and click on it
- now type sarna215 in the Szukaj field, select Nick and click on Wyslij
- information about the volunteer is displayed
- on the right side of volunteer's name, click on the envelope under the capitals PM
- the following steps are the same as described above.
Good luck in your contact!
