This often works with rural gmina. Use google to find the homepage of the gmina. From there find a contact email address for the gmina. In your email say you are looking for relatives and include as much information on the relationship as you can. In English works, but Polish is preferable.
One lady doing this in English, but from Denmark, got a response in English and German. It also gave the address for a neighboring gmina where other relatives were known to be living.

Hi David,

Have you tried with the social networking website http://nasza-klasa.pl/ ? In this research case http://forum.polishorigins.com/viewtopic.php?p=674#674 together with Sigmund we built simple page about his relatives search in Poland in Polish and English http://polishorigins.com/document/ancerewicz , and then I contacted a few persons from the http://nasza-klasa.pl/ website sending them link to this page.

A few people responded and one of them turned to be great-granddaughter of Sigmund's grandfather brother Exclamation And I have to say that before we had tried other different ways, including dozens of phone calls with persons bearing the same surname as well as local church and secular people.

You have your own blog (for those who don't know it yet I highly recommend: http://david-polanddavid.blogspot.com/ - I hope David you don't mind Smile ), you speak Polish, you live in Poland, why don't try.. Question
