Post subject: Village Benczyn, Malopolska, Poland
My grandfather was born in 1890 in the village benczyn. The parish his family belonged to is located in Paszkowka.
Is anyone doing research in this parish? Does anyone have information about the village benczyn? Thank you Mary

Mary,
The church records from Paszkówka are located in the Archdiocese Archive in Kraków.
Births:
1799 - 1821
1823 - 1846
1848 - 1870
1880 - 1889
Marriages:
Lata: 1799 - 1821
1823 - 1846
1848 - 1870
1880 - 1889
Deaths:
Lata: 1799 - 1821
1823 - 1829
1831 - 1838
1840 - 1846
1848 - 1870
1880 - 1889
And here, just for fun, you can see the historical map of Bęczyn: https://mapire.eu/en/map/thirdsurvey25000/?layers=129&bbox=2183958.7134876046%2C6433152.429445872%2C2196026.209328127%2C6436974.280860132

What is more, the State Archives have scan of the cadastral map of Bęczyn: https://szukajwarchiwach.pl/29/280/0/24.1/3055/skan/full/5uswryJu0ApzYVcOF6zUbw
This is the real treasure, because on some church records you can find the house numbers. Then, with the help of cadastral map, it is possibe to find the place where your ancestors' house was located. Unfortunately, there is one catch: the map is available onlibe, but the index of the house owners and numeration of plots (so called operat) is available only in the State Archive in Kraków (actually in their branch in Spytkowice).
An additional curiosity is that Paszkówka is famous for its beautiful palace, which is now an elegant hotel.

Agnieszka,
Thank you for the all the great information. Do you know if I can write to Archdiocese Archive in Kraków to have a search done for records regarding my family?
I also searched the https://szukajwarchiwach.pl for records on Bęczyn. There is many records in the archives but nothing digitalized, except the maps, which were very interesting. Looking through I did find my family name mentioned. If you have anymore information or know where I can find more information on Bęczyn it would be appreciated.
Thank you again Mary

Mary,
As far as I know they do not do the research, so the only solution would be to hire the researcher (or arrive in Poland), but you can always try writing… Here you have the email address to the archive: https://archiwum.diecezja.pl/kontakt/
We currently perform the research only for guests who will be travelling with us, but we might recommend you someone, if you need assistance.
Feel free to contact us: [email protected]
