My great grandfather Kazimierz Tenczar supposedly came to the US in 1895 and my great grandmother Honorata nee Januszek(Little Busia) in 1897 (although I can't find documentation of those dates, found them on the 1920 census). Little Busia's mother's maiden name was also Tenczar and DziaDzia and Busia's home villages were only 3 miles apart. He was born in Niewodna 1875 and she was born in Szufnarowa 1882. I have wondered if this was some sort of arranged marriage but they didn't get married until 1902 in Chicago. The marriage certificate from the church is the oldest document I can find on either of them at this point. I have been able to obtain family tree information on him going back to his grandfather Sebastian Tenczar. I have no information on her parents, Adam Januszek and Frances Tenczar. Do these names or villages sound familiar to anyone. I am very limited in my knowledge of Poland. I only learned of their home villages last summer.

Hi,

Google maps is you friend.

I put Niewodna, Poland and got both villages on my screen, Szufnarowa is West of Niewodna, very close.
Both vilages are in the South-West direction from Rzeszow, flying bird distance circa 30 km.

Sometimes it is interesting to search for distribution of the particular name in today Poland, here is Januszek
http://www.moikrewni.pl/mapa/kompletny/januszek.html
and here Tenczar

Kind regards,
Elzbieta
