My maternal grandfather was Maurice Rdesinski (b: 1903 in Philadelphia, USA d: 1992 New Jersey, USA). His father was Joseph Jan Rdesinski (b. 1878 in Slupca dConfused Philadelphia, USA). Joseph Jan Rdesinski emigrated to Philadelphia in 1895. Joseph Jan Rdesinski's father was Jan Rdesinski (b. ? d:1915 in Slupca) and mother was Jozefa Kazimera Wesierski (b. ? d: 1914 in Slupca).

I am interested in researching more information about the families of Jan Rdesinski and Jozefa Kazimera Wesierski. The following website has been very helpful but I am afraid I have exhausted its usefulness.

http://www.slupcagenealogy.com/SearchPg.aspx

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks and regards.

My great great grandfather was Alexy (Aleksander) Rdesinski from Slupca. If you do a search on Slupca Genealogy for marriage/groom/Slupca you will see that perhaps our great grandfathers were brothers. He married Tekla Kapczynski from Slupca. Their daughter, Maryanna married Andrejz Cegielski from same area. Their son, Narcissus Andrew, aka Marty Stone, was my mother's father. He died when she was 10. My grandmother (Mika family from Jaslo area) remarried.

I never knew anyone from this family, but now I know so much I could write a book. I am also looking into other families on my side and my husband's, but seem to be more interested in this one since they really are strangers to me.

Most Rdesinski's stayed in Philadelphia area. I know that Maryanna went to Philly first to meet her brother and husband. She then went to Chicago where the Cegielski family settled. The strange thing is I do not live too far from where she lived.

Have you found any other resources? I also used Polish Genealogy Society of America and Posnan Marriage Project. Some census records, too.

If you go on Posnan Marriage Project search for Jan/Rdesinski/ Slupca area/Catholic and you will find his marriage and also his parents names and his wife's parents names. Married 1869. Shows their ages.
Good luck.

Thanks Pam. Since posting my original message I found all of those sites. I also came across someone who has done some research and had evidence that Jan had been married and widowed, with a number of children, prior to marrying my great great grandmother.

Do you know the names of Alexy's parents?

I don't know Alexy's parents. I do know that my great grandmother, Marya Rdesinski Cegielski Luczynski's parents were Alexy Rdesinski and Tekla Kapczynski. I have documents that list her parent's names.
Any ideas? Thanks.
