Need assistance with understanding the following for Russian Orthodox Confession Lists (for someone unable to read Cyrillic - but, can identify village and surname):

1. Where to look for name of village on the confession list form
2. What information do these forms indicate per column
3. Whether surname is listed per household and/or per farm/estate name.

any insight would be much appreciated as i have not been able to find any guidelines online.
thank you
karen

just received this email replay from father matusiak OCA:

1. Where to look for name of village on the confession list form [is it within the handwritten title?]

It's handwritten at the very top. It says, "Kiev Diocese, Lipovetsk District, Nemenki Village, Protection [of the Mother of God] Church, Priest Auxentius Atanasievich, 1882

2. What information do these forms indicate per column

Top left, horizontal, reads "Number."
Under this are three columns. The one on the far left, vertical, reads "Of the houshold or estate."
Above the next two columns, horizontal, it reads "People."
The two columns below this, from left to right, read, horizontal, "Number of males" and "Number of females."

The wide column to the right of this reads -- in handwriting -- "Title, first name, patronymic, surname of confessee.

Moving to the right, the horizontal heading reads "Year of birth," with two columns beneath, horizontal, for males and females.

To the far right horizontal it reads "action taken." There are three columns under this -- the one on the left indicates whether the person went to confession and Communion; the middle column indicates whether the person went to confession but did not go to Communion; the column to the very far right indicates if the person did not go to Communion.

3. Whether surname is listed per household and/or per farm/estate name.

Yes -- in the fourth column from the left, the widest one with the handwritten heading that begins "Title, first name," etc., as noted above.
