I am trying to find information on my grandparents. My grandmother’s name was either Zofia Florko or Florilo and she was born on the 2 January 1912 in Przemysl. She was a teacher and she married and had a family. During the war she thought her family had died, she met my grandfather and they married and had three children.

While she was pregnant with my mother she saw her daughter’s from her first marriage in Lviv it was either 1941 or 1942 but she didn’t approach them. She later heard that they migrated to Canada.

My grandfather’s name was Hnat Demczyszyn and he was born on the 2 January 1907 in the Ukrainie. Unfortunately I don’t know where he was born but I am waiting for my mother’s birth certificate to arrive from Lviv so hopefully it will have the information. He was a cook in the army during the war. They migrated to Australia in 1949 as well as my grandfather’s sister but I don’t know her name.

He was also married previously but I haven’t heard anything about his first family.

If you have any information about either family it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
I found several Demczyszyn people in WW1 casualties of Austro hungarian army. The year of birth and the place of birth is mentionned. But as you will see places are numerous.
I've not put all the Demczyszyn I found on the site. Here is the link : http://kramerius.nkp.cz/kramerius/Search.do?documentType=&text=demczyszyn+

On Polish army casualties 1918-1920, I found only one person Demczyszyn Jan, private in the Batalion of Lviv defenders killed in 1920.
Regards
Andre
