"(...)All of my information was kept in a small folder and from time to time I would pick it up and try to find more information. When the brick wall hit me on several occasions, the folder would be put away. This was before computers and the internet. My information was gathered from various family members and, depending on who you talked with, the stories would be different.
Things changed drastically when I got my first computer and had access to the internet. Looking things up became much easier and once all these genealogy sites popped up, it was heaven. If the records you are looking for have been copied and recorded, you should be able to find your ancestors. However, if the opposite is true, like my grandfather and his family, the Kruczeks and the Kroks (my great grandmother’s maiden name), finding records online is truly impossible. I have been able to find immigration papers and Chicago records, but nothing from Poland(...)
My goal is to one day be able to trace my Polish grandparents and great grandparents and hopefully go further down the ancestor line. I will be ecstatic and I truly look forward to the day when I can finally put some names on those empty branches of my family tree. My little folder has now grown to several binders and a box full of folders on my ancestors."
Maybe some of visitors of our website some day will be able to give Mary Lou the next hint in her research.. It happened a few times before here .
