Dave,

Thank you very much for the translations. I agree with you that the dates present a question, but genealogy tends to be about interpretation of the documents we find, not necessarily evidence of what factually happened. Just what people wrote or said happened. Anna's death has been troubling my family since we started connecting the documents, as we suspected it was related to childbirth, which was a tragedy.

Thanks for the screenshots. I actually use the site and have obtained quite a few records that we wouldn't have found otherwise. Thank you for taking the initiative and all your hard work. I really appreciate it. These records will give us a chance to put what we've gathered into perspective and build a timeline for the family.

Hello,
I was wondering if I could get a translation of this death certificate. I think it is my 4x GG, Marcin Jagaczewski, and I saw it in Poczekalnia section in Geneteka. It's #52. He was married to Marianna Matuszewska. His parents were Jakub and Monika.

Thanks
John

Hello,

I was hoping someone might be able to help me translate the birth record of my Great-Great -Grandmother, Maryanna PetyKiewicz. The index provides me with her mother's name, but has NN for the name of the father. Her marriage record states she is Karpinski, however it appears her mother married after her birth. I tried translating it, but using the translation tools, but between the quality of the copy, and the handwriting I have been unable to. Maryanna's birth record is number 4 and her twin sister is number 5 if that is helpful. Any assistance is greatly appreciated! The link to the index for the births and marriage is :

Hello,
the record (terrible penmanship!) reads "Jadwiga Petykiewicz, panny" so she was not married by then. She married Wojciech Karpinski on Feb 15, 1841 (they had a son, Adam, later that year). On their marriage record I don't see any mention to Maryana and her sister, so it is hard to say if Wojciech was their biological father or not.

Thank you for your quick response Gilberto, it is much appreciated! I was hoping it might have made some reference. It's funny her marriage record is listed as Petykiewicz but in her son's marriage record they have her maiden name as Karpinski. The mysteries of genealogical research. Thanks again!!

You are welcome. It seems to me Wawrzyniec was 27 at his marriage.
