Hi,

I would appreciate a translation of the birth record for Dorota Szmitt, Drwaly. The pastor's handwriting is hard for me to read.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Helli,

This handwriting is awful! Assuming you know parish and village of residence.

Date of record: Wą____grodzie parish, 18/30 October 1860, 3 p.m.
Informant: Dorota Fingbeiner, farmers wife residing in Strzały?, age 39
Witnesses: Matuesz Fingbeiner, farmer of Strzały?, age 44, also Wilhelm Klein, teacher of Strzały?, age 35
Child: a female named Dorota born in Strzały? on 16/28 October this year at 11 p.m.
Mother: Agata Szmitt nee Hefka, wife of Fryderyk Szmitt, day-laborer, age 27, residing in Strzały?
Godparents: Matuesz Fingbeiner and Dorota Fingbeiner
Note: father Fryderyk Szmitt not appearing, he went to Ostrołęka and _______ (can't decipher this portion; I "think" it reads "i nie wroał? uszcze")

Regards,
Valerie

Valerie, thank you so much for your translation. The parisch, I assume, would be Wyszogrod, since Drwaly is where my relatives lived. I know, that pastor had a very awful handwriting.

Again, thank you!!

Hi. I found my 2x-great-grandmother Josephine Muracki's birth record from the Wigry Parish in 1847. I would appreciate a translation (or textual representation for Google Translate), and thank you in advance.

I would appreciate a translate of #136 Warsaw, 1891, St. Antoni church, marr. of Tomasz Michal Remiszewski & Stefania Anna Stryczynska.

If you cannot read it, the document also is at:

I have found Rosalie Szafranska listed in this 1812 Birth index from the Parish of Grylewo and it says page 7. On Page 7 their are three birth records, two named Rosalie and one named Michael. I can usually make out names pretty well, but I can not seem to make out which entry is Rosalie Szafranska. Can someone please help me translate.

Kurt,

The birth record of Rozalia Szafrańska is in Polish and is the second on your post. I’m attaching the crop. It is in typical Napoleonic long paragraph form mandated by Napoleon for the Duchy of Warsaw, which he created. Here are the facts without the excess verbage,

Date & Location of Record: Aug 30, 1812 in Grylewo

Father & Informant: Szymon Szafrański, age 42, farmer residing in Grylewo

Mother: Anna nee Kmieciak, age 28

Child: Rozalia, born in house #6 in Grylewo on August 24, 1812

Witnesses: Piotr Czerwinski, age 24, valet/footman at the manor house, and Walenty Sikora, age 33, farmer; both residing in Grylewo

Record concludes with the usual formula that the record was signed only by the priest because the others don’t know how to write.

I’ll translate the Latin records from Galicia in the next few days as time permits.

Hope this helps your research.

Dave
