Grzybów
It happened in the village of Śleszyn, on July 19th, 1839, at 6 p.m.
We make it known that in the presence of the witnesses, Kacper Kamieński, kopczarz*, 42 years old and piotr jakuboski, a blacksmith, 24 years old, both living in Zalesie, a religious marriage was concluded on this day, between:
Ignacy Wiśniewski, a single man, a miller living in Zalesie, who was born in Jagniątka, a son of the spouses: the late Wincenty Wiśniewski and the living Katarzyna Wiśniewska nee Kopczyńska, who lives at her son's in Zalesie, 20 years old <20>
and
Karolina Gumińska, a miss, a daughter od the spouses: the late Mikołaj Gumiński and the living Domicela Gumińska nee Surska, a daylaborer living in Zagroby Leśne, 28 years old, who was born in Leśne and lives at her brother's in Grzybowo.
This marriage was preceded by the three banns of marriage, announced on June 23rd, june 30th and july 7th of the current year in the parish of Śleszyn.
The newlyweds' mothers, who were present at drafting this marriage act, gave their oral permission for this marriage.
There were no objections for this marriage.
The newlyweds declared they did not enter into any prenuptial agreement.
this act was read to the newlyweds, who were illiterate and it was signed by Us.
Priest Jakub kostrzewski, the vicar of the parish of Śleszyn.
*kopczarz - The existence of Polish peasants even in distant times was not to be envied. (...) those peasants who after Napoleon granted them freedom remained with their heirs, with difficulty earning a living by daily work, are forced to hire themselves out to landowners, on a contract usually lasting from 1 to 3 years. The owners undertake to give the peasant a cottage, a small garden and an agreed percentage of the grain harvest, usually every sixtieth sheaf, which is why they are called kopczars, from the word "kopa", i.e. 60.

Hello, I wonder if anyone would be able to translate this record for me please? It's the marriage record of my great-great-great grand-aunt. She married into quite a good family and they had their wedding in Lowicz cathedral, whereas most of the vital records of my family are from their parish church, so I am very curious what information is included in her wedding record. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you very much for translating this! It's interesting to read about the banns, I hadn't heard of those before. Also that they didn't give more information, espcially on the groom's family, as they seem to have been quite important. Thank you again!

This is the additional information about the bride's parents that they were already late at the time the marriage was concluded. Priest forgot to enter this information in the act.
