Carol,

I could not find this subject in AP Warszawa webpage (http://www.warszawa.ap.gov.pl/intro.html). What is the surname you are looking for? Are you aware of the Geneteka database? ZoSIA?

Carol,

Geneteka database: http://geneteka.genealodzy.pl/
click on the Lens icon at the top and insert the surname you are looking for in the Nazwisko field.
or
click in Warszawa (column under the word Tereny) if you want to search in Warszawa.

Metryki database:
http://metryki.genealodzy.pl/
click on Mazowieckie and then in warszawski; select the place you want to search (under the word Zespol)

ZoSIA database:
http://szukajwarchiwach.pl/
check the box Only digital scans
type Warszawa in the blank field.
search for results containing the words Akt urodzen covering the year you want.

Regards,
Gilberto

The instructions you gave to Carol seemed useful for my purposes as well. However, when I put in the surname I was interested in, and clicked on search, it just brought up the number of matching records, and when I clicked on them, it took me to another search page. How do I get to see details like names, dates, etc.?

Karol,

Click on the numbers and they will take you to the results. If you see a small orange letter 'i' point your mouse on it to see additional. However, you must have in mind: many of the names in that database were transcribed from indexes. In such cases you will only see "skorowidz" or "dane z skorowidz". When the names were taken from the records themselves, they may contain a bit more of info, such as names of both parents, or place of origin, etc).
