Until recently, Jozefa Igła has been difficult to find in the records prior to 1890. I came across this set and I'm interested in other's opinions on the likelihood of it being the same individual. I'll provide background information that I have high confidence in.

So working backwards:

In 1903 Josepha Lex (widowed, maiden name Igla, parents Peter and Antonina) married Frank Bekasinski.

In 1894 Josepha Grezlachowska (daughter of Perti and Antonina N.) married Thomas Leks in Buffalo, New York.

In 1890 Jozefa Igła from Zbietka married Jan Grezlachowski in Podlesie Kościelne. Jan Grezlachowski died in 1893.

The new lead is Josepha Igla born in 1858 in Łekno (record from Lekno, Wongrowitz, Posen, Preußen) to Peter and Antonina Purczynska.

This set of records also has Peter and Antonina's marriage from 1841.

Łekno is not too far from Zbietka, just 16 km.

Is there any relevant additional context to this region?

Hello,
in the birth record from the parish Łekno you can see the name of the village - Mrowiniec. In the marriage record for Józefa and Tomasz Leks they wrote that Józefa is from Mrowińce, Posen. It could be the same place but written differently.

Jozefa's first marriage was in Podlesie Kościelne - you can also check records for this parish https://www.szukajwarchiwach.gov.pl/en/jednostka/-/jednostka/1485075?_Jednostka_delta=20&_Jednostka_resetCur=false&_Jednostka_cur=3&_Jednostka_id_jednostki=1485075

Monika, thank you for that additional information! Mrowiniec is between Łekno and Zbietka, although it does not appear on modern maps.

I will have to take a look through the Podlesie Kościelne records.

OK, so that's why I couldn't find it on the map... I have also checked marriage records for Łekno area (30 km) on this website https://poznan-project.psnc.pl/search.php?lang=en and there is only 1 marriage record for Piotr Igła - the same one that you found.
I think it is very likely that Jozefa's birth and marriage records relate to the same person.

I just finished going through the records for Podlesie Kościelne, and I did not find any additional information.

I am feeling pretty confident this is the right family. Thank you, I appreciate the second set of eyes!
