Post subject: Barloga ancestry search - Poznan?
I have begun to research where my great-grandfather, Albert Barloga, immigrated from in 1892. His wife was named Maria I believe. I was told he was from the Poznan area.
His first name may have also been Wojciech, but since the area was controlled by Prussia at the time, they might have called him Albert in official paperwork.
He immigrated to Cicero, IL, where he lived until his death in 1931. I believe he was born in 1870.
I greatly appreciate any help or advice. I am visiting Europe in June, and would like to stop in Poland if I have good idea where he's from. Probably not enough time to track down blood relatives.
Thank you!
