Post subject: Marta Hesse
I am trying to find information about my great grandmother, Marta Hesse born in Korzekwice (german korkwitz)in 1904. She later moved to Berlin where I have found marriage certificates.
I am trying to find any information. Adress, siblings, parents etc
Does anyone know anything?
Best regards Jesper

Hi Jesper,
Just to get you started, here is the entry for Korkwitz in Meyer's Gazetteer:
https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/11044013
If you click on the tab for "map" you will see a very nice, detailed map.
If you click on the tab for "ecclesiastical" you will see the towns in which you can find the closest catholic and protestant churches. You will need to know which church they attended, in order to find further records.
Since you have the marriage certificate from Berlin, you should already have the parents' names. Are you having any difficulty reading it?
Best regards,
Sophia

Hello Sophia. Thank you for your reply. I can't read much old German records, however I don't think it says anything about parents. But I am not sure. I think she was Protestant church.
Regards Jesper

Hi Jesper,
It would be good to get Michael's help with translation. It appears that this marriage record is telling you that Marta's birth record is in Birth Register Number 34 in Reinschdorf. The link I gave you (above) to Meyer's Gazetteer is indicating that Reinschdorf is where the catholic church was.
Michael does the German translations, and you can post your images here:
https://forum.polishorigins.com/viewtopic.php?p=65601#65601 in the "quick reply" area where he is most likely to see it.
