Tomorrow, on 15th of August, Poland celebrates a multiple occasions: firstly, it is the Assumption of St. Mary holiday. The gratitude for the harvest is expressed, in the villages women are bringing to the mass specially prepared bouquets with flowers, cereals, apples and herbs.

Secondly, this is also the Polish Army holiday, commemorating the battle of Warsaw from 1919, often hailed as the "Miracle at the Vistula".

There was a movie about the battle realized in 2011, and it is possible to watch it on Youtube (unfortunately only in Polish).

We invite you also to read the family story from The Polish-Soviet war on our forum: http://forum.polishorigins.com/viewtopic.php?p=3552
