Who established the first Polish Community in America?

"Polish participation in the history of America goes back to the beginning of America. The founding of the first Polish community in America is a subject of much debate. I was born and raised in Michigan, hence the articles which I have sent you have been centered around Polish history in Michigan.
Two Polish communities: 1) Panna Maria of Texas and 2) Parisville of Michigan have been debating for many years as to which was the first Polish community in America. I would like it to be Michigan's Parisville, but I am not sure it was the first.
As a genealogist, I am interested in the accuracy of data and dates. There is a book entitled Parisville Poles which was edited by Harry Milostan. On page 25 of this book, Milostan shows a land purchase document that indicates the first land purchase in Parisville by a Pole was in 1854. The historians of Parisville have been using this date for many years in their debate with Panna Maria. Unfortunately, the date is incorrect. The article which I have attached for your "My Gen Stories", shows why this date is incorrect. Therefore, I believe this article is important to help establish when Parisville was in fact settled by Polish immigrants. Unfortunaely, it is probably more helpful to Panna Maria than Parisville."
