Just recently I found out that I have Lenart, Kowalczyk, and Mateja in my family tree as well. I would like to know if one of our fellow researchers is related to or has information on Carolus Lenart, baptized in Odrowaz 4 XI 1886, son of Michal Lenart and Magdalena Mateja. He married Antonina Mateja, daughter of Jacob Mateja and Anna Kowalczyk, also baptized in Odrowaz. They were married on 18 Jan 1910 in Chicago. Marriage witnesses were Cantius Lenart and Antonina Mateja.

Carolus Lenart went by Charles Lenart in the US. He died in Aug 1962. The obituary appeared in the Chicago Tribune on 1962-08-06:
Charles Lenart of 2722 W. 18th street, beloved husband of Antoinette, nee Mateja; loving father of Florence [Edwin] Moore, Maryann [Stanley] Proszek, Joseph, Casimir [Verna], John [Sarah], Dorothy [Wally] Zitkovich, Madeline [Eddie] Gabryel, and Phyllis [Peter] Rosas; fond brother of Vesely; ...
Antoinette Mateja-Lenart's obituary appeared in the Chicago Tribune on 1977-06-12.

Another couple got married on the same day as Casimir Lenart and Antonina Mateja: They were Carolus Wrobel, baptized in Ciche, and Anna Kowalczyk, baptized in Odrowaz. I'm attaching the church marriage record for both couples.

Hi Ute,
This information comes from a hired researcher who went to the Archives in Krakow. We do not have a copy of the original record. Karol Lenart was born October 14, 1886 at house number 119 in Zaluczne. His father was Michal Lenart, and Michal's parents were Jan Lenart and Anna Bielanski (Bielanska?) Karol's mother was Magdalena Pawelczak (I do see that the marriage record conflicts with that surname). Magdalena's parents were Jan Pawelczak and Katarzyna Bielanski (Bielanska?)

Ute,
I believe that I have found Antonina's birth record now. She was born October 4, 1893 at house number 171 in Odrowaz. Her father was Jacek (nickname?) and his father was Jan Matyja and his mother Anna Kruzel (dot above the letter z). Antonina's mother was Anna Kowlalczyk, and her father was Wojchiech Kowalczyk and her mother Katarzyna Styrczula (with a slash throught the l).

Yes, I have the baptism records of Casimir Lenart, baptized 18 Nov 1917, and John Lenart, baptized 23 July 1920 (sons of Carolus Lenart and Antonina Mateja), thanks again for sharing them with me.
