I am wondering about how my gggrandfather, the son of a serf, became an apprentice to a tailor in the Pozen area of Prussia in the late 1830's. His father died in 1836. He was 12 at the time of his father's death. I believe they were working for the Korytowski family in Rogowko.
What were the rules for apprenticeship at that time? Might I be able to find paperwork?
Any information regarding tailor apprenticeship for that time frame appreciated.
